Gang Gang Sarah

“Once upon a time an African witch called Gang Gang Sarah blew off course to find herself in a Tobagan village, home to the tallest silk cotton tree as far as the eye could see.

Sarah stayed on the island awhile to nurse and tend the slaves, and at the end of each day would climb the gargantuan silk cotton roots, nestle herself amongst its branches and leap across its canopy, dancing with her spirits at the tips of its leaves. Unbeknownst to Sarah, however, every single day she stayed on the island her witchcraft powers were diminished further and when she finally climbed the silk cotton to fly home to Africa legend has it that she fell to her death, forever to stay in the village of Les Coteaux.”
